Who We Are
The Jamaica Publishing House Limited (JPH) was established in 1975 as the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Jamaica Teachers’ Association.
Our premier objective is to encourage and facilitate the publishing of educational texts authored by Jamaican and other Caribbean educators, thereby, fulfilling the growing post-independence need to provide local/regional content for the education system.
JPH has published many works that are well recognized and stands ready to provide authors and potential authors with the requisite assistance and technical guidance needed to publish their works.
The Company invites educators to explore the publishing opportunities it has to offer as it continues on its dynamic quest to give effect to the mission statement “creating books…spreading knowledge.”

Our Vision
The Jamaica Publishing House Limited emerged shortly after Jamaica’s celebration of Independence and, therefore, its mission statement ‘Creating Books…Spreading Knowledge’ is quite fitting, as it encapsulates the Company’s deliberate intention to utilize local / regional talent to author publications and to further the post-independence educational development of the country and the wider Caribbean.
